RUNNING ON WAVES is a 64.00m / 210ft Sailing Superyacht built in 2011 by Gdansk with interior design by Stroganov Art Academy and later underwent a refit in 2021. Sleeping 42 guests in 18 cabins and with a crew of 21. Cruising at 8.50 kn/ph with a top speed of 18.00 kn/ph. The guest cabins comprise of 1 Mini suite (double+1), 4 Double premium, 7 Double standard, 1 Twin and 5 Triple (twin + 1 Pullman) economy class, all with en-suite bathroom facilities.
He has experience over 50 years at sea, more than 30 year under sail, including Olympic class, World Championships & transatlantic races, on merchant & passenger fleet – 17 years , having grown from sailor to captain, on motor yachts – more than 20 years.

Orlov is a passionate chef who simply loves to cook. He has developed his passion for food from a young age taking it from his Grandfather. After working in different restaurants ashore, he started to work on luxury cruise ships and since 2018 he joined the “Running on Waves” team as a chef.
“It is very nice when my culinary delights are in demand!” says Chief Cook Olexey. With his wealth of experience and culinary acumen, there’s no doubt that they will be. Qualified in hotel and restaurant management, Olexey was sous-chef at Recelito Gayeta and Our Lady of Sorrows Academy as well as Chef de Partie at the Mills Country Club.
His versatility to combine different local styles of cooking makes him a perfect chef to satisfy different clients of all nationalities. His way of preparing meat guaranties an outstanding experience; with vegetarian dishes he shows his originality and exceptional sense of taste and his desserts frequently lead guests to a maximum enchantment.
Has nearly 20 years of experience in Cruise Director, Chief Purser or similar positions aboard cruise vessels like MS Delphin Voyager 4*, MS Delphin 3* and others.

Mr Romanov graduated from the Saint Petersburg Maritime College, and after that continued his education at the Saint Petersburg State University of Maritime and Inland River Transport named after Admiral Makarov; holder of a Deep Sea Captain Certificate.
He also holds Certificates of General Operator, ARPA Radar, Basic Safety Training, Survival Craft, Advanced Fire Fighting, Medical first aid, Medical first aid and Care, Advanced Oil, Advanced Chemical, Advanced Gas, Inert Gas System Operations, RO-RO Passenger Ship, Bridge Team Management, Ship security officer (SSO), Designated security duties, Operation of Electrical and Electronic Control Equipment, ECDIS.
During 5 years Gregory drew service on board the world-famous “Sedov” four-mast windjammer (one of the biggest sailing ships in the world, built in 1921) as a chief navigator, 2nd officer and chief mate, and joined the Crew of RUNNING ON WAVES thereafter (in 2016). He speaks fluent English. He plays electric guitar and goes in for body-building.
An absolute connoisseur of star navigation and has a rare talent to share his fascinating knowledge with guests in most exciting manner.
Oleg has acquired 16 years of experience aboard some of the best sailing ships in the world, including Star Clippers, and of course, ROW. He speaks English, Ukranian and Russian and stays busy with handicrafts and kick scooters in his downtime. While he has a wife and daughter back at home, the crew of ROW are his family when he’s at sea. “Our entire crew are highly professional sailors who perform their work at a very high level,” he says.
This year will be his 3rd season with Running On Waves.
“Here I was given an opportunity to pursue my dream and see the positive prospect of personal and professional growth.
I feel the spirit of comradeship as we work together for same goal, though all the guys come from different countries and each one is a personality, and it is such a fun to be all as one despite we are so unlike each other.
I love dealing with international passengers taking care of their perfect comfort and this motivates me like nothing else.

Richard has a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and three years’ experience aboard various Costa ships. The athletic fellow has been onboard Running on Waves for nearly three years, and he is loving every moment of it!
Bosun Tudos was born on 19/04/1979 in Lugansk, Ukraine. He is a devoted father to two children and speaks fluently English. He graduated from Odessa National Maritime Academy and received specialization as a fist class seaman. Further to his diploma, he holds certificates in: fire fighting, passenger and Ro-Ro ship, proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats, basic safety training and instruction, first medical aid. In 2005, Tudos put all his training into work when he boarded on S/V DRUJBA as apprentice seaman.
Alexander has accumulated ten years’ sailing experience on a variety of vessels, from trawler yachts to high-speed yachts like the Sunseeker. But only on ROW, he says, has he experienced true sailing. The dedicated Chief Engineer is married with two children.
Another crewmate in his third year aboard the ship, Dmitro is always eager to lend a helping hand. “Throughout my life, I have dreamed of sailing on a truly great ship!” His dreams have definitely come true.
Electric engineer Vladimir has over ten years’ experience on cargo and sailing ships. He is well impressed with the state-of-the-art electronic equipment aboard ROW. Vladimir is married and has one child.
